Symphony of Light

When shadows grow long, I get restless; and when darkness falls, I drive into the night to greet celestial life. I find myself a private spot where I can be bothered only by coyotes. At first, I feel fear as a city dweller, but I look at the stars and let it all go. I surrender and tune into night landscape - it is my canvas, and flashlights are my brushes. I orchestrate a symphony of light while my cameras silently record my fantasies.
................................

…and when I am back to the city, I look at people and wonder how many of them will never venture into the night to witness how beautiful their moonlit planet is.

CH317 hits the Earth

Great display was on last night. Didn't have much luck today as it was cloudy. I went as far south as Burmis, but the Aurora wasn't active there for some reason. Well, shouldn't get greedy - got some nice light painting under Aurora the night before. Check them out in the "Celestial" album on my website. Sometimes it pays off to live in a cold climate - to be able to witness such a beauty.

Light painting with Aurora is something new to me. I get excited when the lights start dancing, so it's hard to concentrate on what I am doing when I just want to look at Aurora. But I will be improving.

This Aurora came handy as I have a request for an Aurora article from a magazine, so more pictures are welcome. I am excited that my article on light painting is going to be published this year as well.

The car is really dusty here from all of the off-pavement driving. I parted with my X-Terra, but I totally refuse to change my driving style. I will manage to make a good off-roader out of this baby.

I was hesitant to get the car of this colour, because I prefer light. But I like how Iridium plays off the dark sky. Very happy about the colour choice - good choice indeed for a night shooter ;)
