Symphony of Light

When shadows grow long, I get restless; and when darkness falls, I drive into the night to greet celestial life. I find myself a private spot where I can be bothered only by coyotes. At first, I feel fear as a city dweller, but I look at the stars and let it all go. I surrender and tune into night landscape - it is my canvas, and flashlights are my brushes. I orchestrate a symphony of light while my cameras silently record my fantasies.
................................

…and when I am back to the city, I look at people and wonder how many of them will never venture into the night to witness how beautiful their moonlit planet is.

Music in a Dark

When you pet project becomes a grudge and gets you tired and burn out, what do you do?

Play music to relax. And then snap it. I will be doing many experiments in the next little while with my piano(s) (I have two) when I feel the need to get away from the ‘routine’ shooting (funny how projects become just another routine and just hard work once the novelty wears off)

The “playing” part is quite fake and I hardly know any musical pieces playing which I could be caught in such symmetrical position. However, for the shot sake, had to do the “posing” vs. real playing.

Had I played for real, this particular shot would not work. I am no Lang Lang and my concert pianist continued and stayed alive only in my parents dreams, but I am pretty fast – enough to raise hell. Rusty though, so can’t do the “real time” blur of fingers. That’s where slow shutter speed comes to aid ;). And the rear curtain sync flash comes like a blessing for this scenario.

Now, I have to find time to work on that one.
